GST Portal Update: New Timeline for AATO Amendments 2025–26

The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has rolled out an important update that every taxpayer should note. Starting July 1, 2026, the Aggregate Annual Turnover (AATO) amendment window for FY 2025–26 has officially shifted from May to July.

🔑 What’s Changing?

  • New Amendment Window: Taxpayers can now amend their AATO details between 01 July – 31 July 2026.

  • Officer Review Period: Jurisdictional tax officers will review amended AATO details from 01 August – 15 August 2026.

  • System Enhancements: GSTN is upgrading its portal to automatically update AATO as subsequent returns are filed, ensuring consistency and accuracy across modules.

📌 Why This Matters

Previously, amendments were allowed only in May (as per the 2022 advisory). With this revision, taxpayers get more time and a streamlined process. Accurate AATO reporting is crucial because it directly impacts compliance, eligibility for schemes, and audit readiness.

🛠️ What You Should Do

  • Mark Your Calendar: Don’t miss the July amendment window.

  • Double-Check Details: Ensure your turnover figures are accurate before submission.

  • Raise Grievances Promptly: If you face issues, use the Self-Service Portal on GST to lodge grievances with supporting documents.
